Project Overview
Intel’s developer organization relies heavily on a contract workforce that scales up or down with product and program demands. That flexibility is essential to the team’s operating model, but it came with a challenge. Onboarding new contractors was slow, resource-heavy, and often stretched to nearly two months before new hires reached full productivity.
We designed and built a custom AI chatbot to change that.

Researched pain points in the onboarding process for new contractors
Mapped key information and workflows into conversational flows
Built an AI chatbot that guided new hires through system setups and common processes
Integrated the chatbot with existing tools and documentation
Created a feedback loop to continuously improve answers and coverage

The new onboarding chatbot helped contractors become productive in under one month compared to the previous two-month ramp-up period. New hires began handling simple tickets within their first week, and senior team members reported a 50% reduction in lost productivity due to fewer interruptions and training requests.
